Child Sexual Abuse Prevention in Texas

Preventing child sexual abuse happens when people get involved locally. The first step is to get trained through Stewards of Children® on how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. If there are trainings already scheduled near you, they will appear below in “The Schedule of Upcoming Events.” If you don’t see a planned event, use the link on the left, "Find a Facilitator Near You", to find contact information for trained facilitators in your area. They can help you to set up a training, or direct you to a training happening that may not be listed. We've also provided some ideas for how you can get involved. Child sexual abuse is a problem that no community can afford. Working together we can make a difference in the lives of children. Let's protect their only childhood!

REQUIRED TRAINING FOR EDUCATORS:

Texas law requires all K-12 school personnel be trained in child sexual abuse prevention and awareness. Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children® is a Texas approved, evidence-backed child sexual abuse prevention, recognition, and intervention training program. Find out more about the Texas educator requirement and free training available.
